Archipel” (“Archipelago”) was created during a long journey through the symbolic constellations evoked in Michel Tournier’s work and in particular in Friday, or, the Other Island. During this journey, the pilot with his baggage of images decided to establish a direct relationship, rich in emotions, with his young passengers. The voice was privileged over speech; the body and its expression over language. He listens to their reactions. Their moods and the vagaries of the weather often change the planned itineraries.

Each stage is an opportunity to exchange memories and experiences. So many sound and visual traces that become a common heritage for the pilot and the small community that accompanies him, ready to embark on the next adventure at the whim of their desires. From one island to another, these traces, associating with each other, end up composing the overall rhythm of the composition.

Swinging, pushing, turning, amplifying or rubbing, each movement is the story of a discovery and the echo of an emotion. Before speech, sounds, gestures and forms merge with each other. They create a rhythm, a listening where the actor and the children meet.

Archipel” is a mobile work, changing in form, duration and interpretation. This journey into the imagination is dedicated to early childhood.
