In December 2024, the choreographic project “Tasting Art – Voice and Gesture: Nourishing from Art” came to life at the Les Petits Castors day care, located in Moussy-le-Neuf (77). From December 9 to 20, artists Astrid Laroque-Fournier (singer and harpist) and Marie Simon (dancer) led workshops for different sections of children at the day care.

Organized into four discovery cycles, this project invited children and professionals to embark on a sensory journey around the body, voice, movement, sounds, and senses. This extended intervention allowed the artists to offer an immersive and evolving experience, fostering artistic awakening and the imagination of the very young through regular and collective practice.

Astrid Laroque-Fournier proposed a playful vocal approach through games of onomatopoeia, breathing, and volume variations. Marie Simon, on the other hand, explored with the children the notions of play, listening to space, attention to the sound environment, and their inner feelings. Together, they guided the children through different bodily dynamics: from the rise of active effort to the discovery of calm and slowness.

Through a variety of themes, the two artists put the meeting of their two arts at the service of awakening the senses of the children at Les Petits Castors day care.
