Artistic residencies in Dammartin-en-Goële

This project was put in place following the participation of the staff of Les Pitchounes multiaccueil in the Erasmus+ 2020-2023 project. During their visits to the partner countries, the centre’s team discovered new, sometimes radically different approaches in terms of artistic practice for toddlers within the early childhood organisations. As a result, the centre decided to put into practice, test and combine a format of residencies over a period of time.

This new project is part of the practical experimentation of the principles defined in the manifesto drawn up collectively by the participants in the Erasmus+ project.

The project was built around artistic encounters over two periods with two different companies, spread over 8 days between November and December 2023. With a complete model of 8 mornings of workshops (4 per company) and time for training and reflection in the afternoons, the project took the form of an artists’ residency in collaboration and shared coordination with the centre.

Les Cils Company – November 2023

The workshops were led by Marie Simon and Kostia Cerda. They built a proposal around the exploration of different materials: sand, light fabrics, feathers, kraft, leaves, through Contact Improvisation dance.

Melampo Company – December 2023

The first two workshops were led by Eleonora Ribis and Julia Morlot, and the next two by Julia Morlot and Fabio Falzone. Their proposals were based on a questioning of the space of the centre as a space for play and awakening, proposing readings; an exploration of clay, and play with balls of light, in connection with their exploration project around Tracks.
